On Firefox, do the about:config thing and edit:

network.http.pipelining to “true”
network.http.proxy.pipelining to “true”
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to a larger number - say 25. Firefox will now make 25 requests at once.

You can also right-click and select New-> Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time that the browser will wait before it acts upon the information that it receives.
