I noticed a flyer today for the E11 music project. It sounds a great idea:
Membership
For £90 a month (the same price as most teachers charge for an hour’s tuition a week) you get an hour’s tuition each week on the instrument of your choice (guitar, bass, drums, music tech or vocals) and another hour to use as you like.
You can learn another instrument, save up time for the studio, have a tutor attend your rehearsal to give you a few pointers or…well - whatever you want.
You also get discounts on courses we run during the holidays, access to all of our social events and the chance to play in our showcase gigs (they’ll start in January).
Group Lessons
For £12 per hour you can join our small group lessons (5 people maximum, 3 for drums). The teachers are the same experts you get with membership and lessons at most levels happen almost all the time, so you can attend flexibly. Just book the next lesson at the end of your current lesson.
I think this would be great for Cathie who can play the guitar a bit and was thinking about lessons again. Also, it’s another community initiative in Leytonstone, which can’t be bad.
Good luck to them.

My son goes there - it’s great - he’s 12, is learning the electric guitar, has become part of a band of year 7s
from the scholol who have played 2 giggs to date and are playing at the Newham open-air festival tomorrow
(9th July) in front of up to 5,000 people.
The staff are really nice, commited and very good teachers.
I would really recommend it big time.
