I have some great headphones for my iPod, Sony MDR-EX71’s. They are the newer type of in-ear headphones where they sort of stick into your ear canal rather than resting in your ear. I like them because they:
- Sound great and are certainly much better than the rubbish white ones that come with the iPod. They also handle the bassline very well.
- They don’t hurt my ears like the older style of in-ears do.
So, imagine my disgust when a few days back I found out that one of the little rubber bits that fit oh-so comfortably into my ear had gone missing!
Luckily Googling came up with a link to a Sony site and a relatively hard-to-find FAQ entry for Sony spares. They seem to sub spares distribution out to a third party:
SEME Limited
Hudson Road
Melton Mowbray
Leicestershire
LE13 1BS
Telephone: 0870 240 6354
Fax: 01664 563 976
email: sony@seme.co.uk
I just called them and they were efficient, they had the bits I need and they can post them Royal Mail in a package that fits through the door. £3.50 each seemd a bit steep but overall a pleasant customer service experience.
