Football

The O’s were rubbish today and frankly I want a refund.

I rushed back from a camping weekend with the family, unpacked the car and with barely enough time to check the mailing list to see how the Cheltenham game went, I headed off to the ground.

It was Craig’s first game this season - his Mrs is pregnant with their first and I want to get a few in with him before his next six months are written off. So anyway, imagine our disapointment when we sat down looking forward to a good game…………..and then the O’s were terrible and we lost to an early penalty.

Not a lot else to say about the game so I’ll list the points:

  • Fucking penalty
  • Alexander still not found his form (please hurry up)
  • Miller was *excellent* although he needs to pass a bit sooner
  • Tudor looked energetic and ran at them, but crossing/shooting was terrible
  • Garner made at least one great save
  • Booing at the end

In summary, we had the ball a lot but did nothing with it.

The next game is against Bristol Rovers (the Gas) who are supposedly my team if you ask my Dad (I’m Bristolian) but I’ll certainly be cheering on Orient.

  1. Toon Army Says:

Orient should never have let Brkovic go. They should also have kept Simon Downer on the straight and narrow. Ling was a fantastic player but Hearn should pay some money and get a decent manager. Paul Brush was so bad that I stopped using my season ticket and starting travelling back to Newcastle at weekends to see the Toon. When the capacity went up to 52,000 I could get tickets for home games. Once you’ve seen Shearer et el, going back to Brisbane Road to see long ball “hoof” is impossible.

Still I had two boughts of playoff heart break, one at Webly and one at Cardiff. If Jabo had scored at Cardiff instead of hitting the post …
