I started updating my iPod tonight with newly created playlists based upon the types of music that I actually listen to. When I first got the iPod a lot of the music that I *thought* I’d want to listen to got added to the one single synced playlist. What I rapidly realised is that I don’ really want to listen to most of it.
I figure that creating different playlists of 500MB or so will enable me to cycle between different, relatively large swathes, of music dependant upon mood and/or whim., bearing in mind that I’ve ‘only’ got 4Gb and by the time I’ve finished ripping all of our CD’s I reckon that we’ll have 40Gb of tunes.
Anyway, I thought it would be nice if the playlists that I’ve selected for iPod updates were marked in some way in iTunes. So randomly I went to ‘Help’ -> ‘give iTunes feedback’ from within iTunes (5.0). I takes me to a webpage entitled “Request Music”. I am asked to input by details and given a dropdown with the following options:
- Request Song
- Request Artist
- Request Album
- Request Soundtrack
- Request Genre
The thing is Apple: I don’t want to Buy Your Product, I did that already. What I want to do is suggest kick ass feature #546 and your form doesn’t allow me.
I suppose I could make the effort and track down an email address, but it’d mean doing it.
