Me, Cathie, Karl, Ann, Phil and Gen went to the Jongleurs ‘on the road’ night at the West Stand last night.
It was hosted by O’s fan Bob Mills and was a really good laugh. We had to wait ages to get a beer and so were trying to get to our seats when Bob came on to start the show. I manged to narowly avoid being ridiculed for my tight(ish) white T-Shirt thanks to Karl going first and Bob picking up on his “Squirrel on your head” hair (Karl has a bushy pony tail).
There were two acts who both did about 1/2 hr each. I went to the Bow Jongleurs recently and the acts were nowhere near as good as the two we saw last night. I forget their names but the second was local to the area and you could see that he really enjoyed angling his gig towards taking the piss out of local things, e.g. pound shops and the Channel tunnel rail link ending at Stratford.
I downed a bottle of Leyton Orient branded red wine and was obviously slightly pished as I bought the empty bottle home.
If they do another one then we’ll definitely be going.
