On my cycle to work this morning I noticed a number of London 2012 (notice no ‘candidate city’ strapline) barrage balloons tethered to the ground near where the Olympics velodrome is/will be and seeing as the last time I saw them was on the day that the IOC inpsectors did their rounds I thought to myself, “who is coming to visit today?”.

The Queen visited the site of the 500-acre Olympic Park, the centrepiece of London’s 2012 Games, saying it was “exciting” and “fascinating”.
A variety of sporting facilities, including an 80,000-seat stadium, will be built in Stratford, east London.
