London

Note to oneself: get better camera on phone next time.On my cycle to work this morning I noticed a number of London 2012 (notice no ‘candidate city’ strapline) barrage balloons tethered to the ground near where the Olympics velodrome is/will be and seeing as the last time I saw them was on the day that the IOC inpsectors did their rounds I thought to myself, “who is coming to visit today?”.

That’ll be the Queen then, $deity bless her:

The Queen visited the site of the 500-acre Olympic Park, the centrepiece of London’s 2012 Games, saying it was “exciting” and “fascinating”.

A variety of sporting facilities, including an 80,000-seat stadium, will be built in Stratford, east London.

I really must get around to doing a write up of my journey with a map overlay. I’m sure I go slap bang through the middle of it all. I’ve just emailed off for one of these ‘walk the bid‘ guides, so that should be a good place to start.
