I recently came back from a great windsurfing weekend. We go twice a year in early spring and early autumn and I reckon after going for 3 years now this one was the best. I put this down to:

• Actually being able to windsurf now. If I get on the board - which I can stay stood up on, even when it’s quite windy - I can decide where I want to go and end up in approximately the right place
• A great crowd. It’s always been good but this time there were eight guys who were all relaxed and good for some banter
• A great venue. Apart from one time that we went to Poole the venue has always been Outdoor Adventure in Bude, Cornwall. They specialise in outward bounds holidays and activity holidays, corporate team building, that sort of thing. They do surfing, canoeing, windsurfing, rock climbing, abseiling and a whole bunch of outdoor activities. The fee includes food and there is a small bar open until around 11.
• Last but certainly not least, I won one of the poker games and came second in another meaning that I came out of all of our poker games a massive £15 up
