Let’s just cut to the chase and list the features that aforementioned lunch box has:

• It’s Dr Who themed (this is definitely A Good Thing if you’re a four year old with TV fixation)
• It’s got a ’scary’ picture on the front ‘with a brain in it’
• You press the brain and LEDs flash where the Cyberman’s eyes are
• You press the words and it talks “YOU WILL BE DELETED…DELETE!” giving it all Dalek voice.

If there were a 4yr old boy’s* version of Wikipedia then doing a lookup on ‘kick ass’ would bring up this lunch box I’m sure. He’s sleeping with it at the moment.

The kids - who were with us at the scan and prepped for a ‘dead baby again’ (their words) - think it’s pretty cool with Eden hoping it’s a girl and Morris wanting a boy.

So from January 17th we’ll not be getting much sleep we’re also wishing we hadn’t given everything away (cots, prams, clothes, etc) when we left london :/

On one of our excursions - the longest one, about 20 miles North to Caernarfon to have a quick nose at the castle - we employed I Spy to stop the kids moaning and after a few turns they really to into it. Eden had us stuck for ages with her L word.

Nope we couldn’t get it and it took us ages to coax the word from her which turned out to be….

So there you have it phonetic I Spy from my 4 year old girl.

Knowing that the snow probably wouldn’t last long I shrugged off sleep, wrapped up and promptly set to making a snowman whilst the rest of the household watched me from the (warm) kitchen whilst they had their breakfast.

It turned out alright if I do say so myself.

Anyway after snowball fights with the kids and other snow related mirth it was back to the real world with a bump. Turns out that as expected a light dusting of snow has brought the area to a standstill. To be fair it’s a lot more rural then we’re used to so a lot of the smaller roads are dangerous to drive on but it does mean that - exciting for the kids - SCHOOL WAS SHUT. Great, this meant that Cathie couldn’t come to the office today, cancelling a meeting.

My walk to work was pretty. I still have to pinch myself now and again when I rememeber how lucky I am to be able to have a 10 min walk to my office every day.

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes. There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of “pretend” bills with not enough money. In a addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor’s appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment. He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care (weekend, evening, on a holiday or right when they’re about to leave for
vacation). He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done. There is only one TV between them, and a remote with dead batteries.

Each father will be required to know all of the words to every stupid song that comes on TV and the name of each and every character on cartoons.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, which they will apply to themselves either while driving or making three lunches.

Each man will have to make an Indian hut model with six toothpicks, a tortilla and one marker; and get a 4 year old to eat a serving of peas.

Each man must adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep their nails polished and eyebrows groomed. The men must try to get through each day without snot, spit-up or barf on their clothing.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties. They
must try to explain what a tampon is for when the 6-yr old boy finds it in the purse.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

He will need to read a book and then pray with the children each night without falling asleep, and then feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair each morning by 7:00. They must leave the home with no food on their face or clothes.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child’s birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor’s name. Also the child’s weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child’s favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up.

They must clean up after their sick children at 2:00 a.m. and then spend the remainder of the day tending to that child and waiting on them hand and foot until they are better.

They must have a loving, age appropriate reply to, “You’re not the boss of me.” The kids vote them off the island based on performance.

The last man wins only if…he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment’s notice. If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years…eventually earning the right to be called Mother!

I’m finding the twins so very hard at the moment.
Nothing major but just constant ‘I want Ready Brek with honey in it!’ ‘Not HOT Ready Break arrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I want it cold!’ ‘That’s not your chair its mines’ ‘Mummy I spilt my milk/dunned a weewee/need to watch Bob a Builder/Winnie & The Pooh’ ‘Not blue wellies green wellies’’I not a little girl I a big girl aaarrrrrrgggh!’ ‘I need do a wee wee in the road’ ‘I need to drive the caaaaaaaaaar!’ ‘I wanna sit on that chair’ and fighting a LOT if I leave them alone for more than half a minute. They tug each others hair and tell each other to do things they wouldn’t do if on their own. I found them standing on the piano yesterday wrestling after nipping upstairs to get their clothes yesterday morning. I’m going to sell them on eBay!

Whilst the above is *really* accurate we of course understand that we’re super lucky to have two at once and that they are healthy and bright and utterly lovely.

Eden however ran right to the swings. I plonked her in the kiddie ones (the ones with the bars around them) and pushed her a bit. At this point she started crying so I asked why.

“I want go higher and faster Daddy”. As soon as I got her going as high as she could without actually falling out then she started laughing.

Obviously me being me I was immediately thinking of getting a better one so we could do some stunts, but I think I’ll leave it for now as they’re still a bit young to pay attention for too long although in fairness Morris only let go once.
