I went with Karl to see Orient play last night. I soon realised just how much I miss being able to go to regular games, but seeing as it’s my only regret about leaving London, I can live with it.

Anyway, the game was really exciting to start off with both sides giving a good account of themselves. Unfortunately the O’s then let in 2 goals just before half-time. Soon after the re-start they let another one in, at this point people started going home and the Gillingham supporters were very vocal. It was depressing to watch; the O’s were all over the place.

Then a ray of light; due to a blatant red card offence that only resulted in a yellow the keeper gave away a penalty. Matt Lockwood scored.

Then he scored a second and with a new found belief they kept up the attack until amazingly Matt Lockwood completed his hat-trick just before full time.

At this point the entire O’s crowd (about 4500 of us) broke into song, gesturing to the - now remarkably quiet - Gillingham contingent (about 500):

3 nil and you fucked it up, 3 nil and you fucked it up

(repeat until fade)

Great game.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/5373290.stm

I think my next fix is their Cheltenham away game.

You’re in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.

She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes.

At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, whilst it is in flight you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.

Always remembering that until the purse has actually been thrown it would be plain wrong to be forward of the other shopper.

He was in one of last year’s promotion clubs, Swansea City and has just signed with the O’s for £40K. It was well known that we needed some height and now we have some. Annoyingly he can’t play in the away game tonight at Bristol Rovers (that I’m going to) as he didn’t sign before 12pm yesterday so we’ll have to wait until the Carlisle game to see him in action.

First post in ages, work has been mental.

I just got back from watching Leyton Orient (FA League division 2) boot Fulham FC (FA Premiership) out of the FA Cup in the third round.

What a great game.

There were around 6000 O’s supporters there to watch the game that saw us go 2-0 up by half time with Fulham pulling 1 back within 10 mins of the second half. By far the most tense part for me was Fulham then winning a penalty – we were at the wrong end so didn’t see the ‘foul’ properly but it certainly didn’t look like one. Anyway, who cares? Garner saved it and we spent the next 20 mins looking at our watch and willing the ref to blow his whistle.

The O’s played a really professional and determined game and it was a pleasure to watch. Us supporter also put on a great show, I know my voice will be in tatters tomorrow.

The O’s get £40,000 for wining the third round plus the gate etc – I’d guess another £20,000 there - so it was a useful game too.

Best case scenario would be to get a high profile televised game in the next round, lose (taking the money, thakyouverymuch) and then we get to focus on getting promotion.

The 4th round draw is tomorrow, Up the O’s!
