T.W.A.T.

“Tamar Watersports Appreciation Team” coined yesterday by Matthew French as a name for our twice yearly windsurfing/poker weekends at the “Outdoor Adventure. Multi-Activity and Surf Centre, Widemouth Bay, Bude, Cornwall” (we go windsurfing on Tamar lake).

As a 12 strong group it was the largest since I’ve been going with quite a few new faces none of which turned out to be nutters, which is nice.

The other inhabitants of the watersports center was a 15 strong hen night of female P.E. teachers and they had a themed 80′s night. We joined in.

The summer-like weather & conditions were perfect on Saturday for surfing where I managed to stand up, for a nanosecond, at least twice. Ditto windsurfing on Sunday although a tad more wind would have been nice as I need to practice the harness more.

The outdoor activities center plugged above was, as always, excellent. The instructors are professional, competent and laid back with the delivery.

You had to be there; I was and it was brilliant. Roll on September.

Windsurfing boy’s poker night

The loose group of us that go windsurfing at Bude got together recently at Steve’s house to play poker. Karl was there too and it was an excellent night. I got a tad messy and that’s my excuse for bombing out early in all of the games.

Anyway, here’s some photos:

Steve probably just went all-in on a 3 and 7 off suit.

Never mind, Andy is available to give Karl some moral support
